  7. After that, click on the OK button to save the changes.
  8. Reboot the Windows system and then check if the issue still arises or not. If the solution does not help you then move to the next one.

Procedure 3 – Update the Operating System

An older version of the Operating System can cause this problem on the device. Therefore, you need to keep the device up to date. Hence, the following directions will help you:

  1. Hit the Start button to open the Start menu list and then click on the Settings icon.
  2. Once you are in the Settings window, move to the Update & Security section.
  3. After that, go to the Update tab on the left navigation pane.
  4. Then, click on the Check for updates option to check for available updates.
  5. If an update is available, you will get the Update button, click on it to begin the update process.
  6. After the update process completes, the device will restart automatically.

Procedure 4 – Perform a System Restore

Another effective way in which you can easily get rid of the Realtek PCIe GBE family controller driver error on your computer is to perform a system restore. This is how:

  1. Hit the Windows Home key and then click on the Search icon.
  2. Type System Restore in the Search box and then hit the Enter key.
  3. When the System Restore window opens, click on the Next button.
  4. Choose the restore point that you want to restore your system to, from the next window.
  5. After that, check all the details and then click on the Finish option.
  6. Once the restore process gets over, restart your Windows computer and then check if it resolves the problem or not.

Procedure 5 – Reinstall the Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller Driver

Issues with the Realtek PCIe GBE family controller can be caused by a corrupted or faulty controller driver. Therefore, you should uninstall the driver and then install it again. For that,

  1. Right-click on the Windows Home icon to launch the WinX menu list and then choose Device Manager.
  2. From the Device Manager window, go to the left panel, locate and select the Network adapters section to expand it.
  3. Find the Realtek PCIe GBE family controller driver, right-click on it and then select Uninstall device.
  4. After uninstalling the driver, restart the Windows PC and then try to install it.
  5. To reinstall it, visit the official website of Realtek and download the latest version of the Realtek PCIe GBE family controller driver.
  6. After downloading it, install it properly.
  7. After installing, reboot the Windows device and then check if the glitch is eliminated or not.

Procedure 6 – Get a New PCle Network Adapter
