Outlook 2013 Signature Not Working | Follow Easy Steps For Quick Fix

Recently, users have reported that they faced problems in Outlook 2013 where their signature was not working. After upgrading the Outlook application, they were not able to edit the signatures.

Effective Ways to Fix Outlook 2013 Signature Not Working

There are a few easy steps to resolve Outlook 2013 signature from not working. Here, we have laid out the steps in detail to help you out with this issue. These methods are pretty straightforward and have been explained in detail. 

Method 1: Delete Temporary Internet Files

Incidentally, deleting temporary internet files and junk files, this problem can be resolved. This is because sometimes, temporary files may prevent the signature button from working. Therefore, it is better to remove these files.  

You can delete it by following the steps below. 

  1. At first, launch any web browser and then move to the Settings option. After that, scroll down the page and then click on the Advanced section.
  2. Again, scroll down and you will find the Clear Browsing Data section. Click on that. Now, check all the boxes and then click the Clear Data option.
  3. A new confirmation box will appear on the system screen. Click OK to confirm the action. After clearing the internet temporary files, now, open up the Outlook account. Clear the Spam folder as well.
  4. Finally, restart the system and launch the Outlook application. Check whether the signature button is working or not.

Method 2: Edit Registry

There are many people who suggested that changing the registry entries has helped to fix this problem. Hence, follow the below steps to perform this particular method in order to fix the Outlook 2013 signature button from not working.

  1. At first, press the Windows key and R key at the same time to launch the Run dialog box. After that, type “Regedit” in the Run window and hit the Enter button to open up the Registry Editor.
  2. Thereafter, navigate to the following location if you are using a 32-bit system –
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{0006F03A-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}\LocalServer32


  3. Similarly, navigate to this location if you are using a 64-bit system –
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Wow6432Node\CLSID\{0006F03A-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}\LocalServer32
  4. Now, navigate to that folder where the Outlook application is installed. Usually, it can be found in the Programs Files under C drive. Locate Outlook.exe and right-click on it. Select Properties and copy the file location for the program.
  5. Afterward, set the value for the LocalServer32 key as well as the Default registry strings. Here, the value will be the file location of Outlook.exe that you copied in the previous step.
  6. Finally, save these settings and close the Registry Editor. Relaunch Outlook to see if the issue has been resolved.

Method 2: Reinstall MS Outlook Application

You can do this step if you’re confused by the previous step. Thus, reinstalling the Outlook application will automatically fix any registry problems. You can even get a newer version of Outlook by following this method. 

You can do this by going through the instructions given below. 

  1. Press the Windows Start button and go to the Control Panel. Next, head over to the Programs and Features section.
  2. Here, you will see all the installed applications of your system. Locate the Outlook application and then right-click on it.
  3. Now, select the Uninstall option from the list and OK to confirm the action. Wait until the process gets completed. After that, restart the system and then launch a web browser.
  4. Later, search for the Outlook application and then download the latest version of the application. When the downloading process gets completed, install it on your device. After successfully installing the updated version of the Outlook application restart the system.
  5. Finally, enter the login details of your account to open your account. Your problem should be resolved by now.

To summarize, you should be able to resolve Outlook 2013 signature not working issue in your system. This is commonly caused due to a registry issue so reinstalling Outlook should be able to fix this problem.
