1. Disable and Enable the GPU

Many users have reported that they successfully solved the issue by disabling and then re-enabling the NVIDIA GPU. This is a basic step that you can follow and here’s what you must do:

Step 1

At first, press the ‘Windows’ key and the ‘R’ key together. Thereafter, in the Run dialogue box that appears type ‘devmgmt.msc’ and then hit the Enter button. This will prompt the Device Manager to open. 

Step 2

After this, you have to identify the ‘Display Adapters’ option. Now, click on it to expand the option. Now, from the options choose your NVIDIA Graphics card and then right-click on it. Now, tap on the ‘Disable’ option. 

Step 3

Once you click on ‘Disable’, a message will pop up on the screen warning you that the device may stop working. You will get a request for confirming your action. Click on the ‘Yes’ option to proceed with the disabling of the GPU.

At first, press the ‘Windows’ key and the ‘R’ key together to launch the Run dialogue box. Thereafter, type ‘devmgmt.msc’ and then press Enter. Now, click on the ‘Display Adapters’ and right-click on the NVIDIA graphics cards that you are using. Choose the ‘Uninstall’ option. 

Step 2

After you uninstall it, press the ‘Windows’ key and the ‘R’ key. In the Run dialogue box, type ‘control’ to open the ‘Control Panel’. Now, go to the ‘Uninstall a Program’ option and then choose ‘Uninstall everything related to NVIDIA’. 

Now, go to this location: C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\ and then delete the following files:

• nvdsp.inf
• nv_lh
• Nvoclock

Step 3

Thereafter, visit the following directories and then delete the files present in these locations:

• C:\Program Files (x86)\NVIDIA Corporation\
• C:\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\
